About Little Fat Duck

Little Fat Duck was originally a food truck. They started their business in SS15, Subang Jaya. Over the year, they became really successful to be able to attract massive customers to follow this food truck for various reasons.

They believe that offering affordable price for an Italian cuisine is essential. Unlike conventional thinking that food such as pasta & spaghetti have to cost people a high price. In order to achieve pasta to be sold on low cost, they do things a little different to achieve their target but able to offer lower cost for the pasta while still be able to proudly label their food as Italian cuisine.

One of their main strength is their pasta sauce. I tried creating pasta sauce according to many recipe and I can tell that it's really difficult. And I'm not talking about creating the sauce yet, looking for those ingredients really kill my time and wallet. Not to mention it's not so easy to create the sauce successfully. This is why, to be able to create their own sauce and charging customer at low price is something really amazing.

The stall of Little Fat Duck doesn't seems to have anything special until you see the price. Can you find any places in any shopping mall to sell pasta for RM6? Here you can have it. They are selling Bolognaise, Carbonara, Aglio Olio, and Creamy Fiesh Pesto for RM6. As for the drinks, they selling ice lemon tea and canned drinks at RM2++. To get a meal of pasta with drinks for total of RM8++, I can say that it's a good deal for a shopping mall price.

However, they have very limited range of food & drinks. And they don't serve lots of different meal. Guess that's how it is when back to the food truck business. And they are still focusing on their main traits for providing limited Italian cuisine for low price, in which we can't complain too much about it.

Oh, don't be surprise that you don't find any food serving with duck. They just doesn't serve it. I'm not sure why.

First Time Experience - 21st December 2014

When I reach there, a long queue is there as expected. The queue is not that long and it's not that slow, so I can get my order in about 3 minutes while there are 4 people in front of me, and get my food in about 2 minutes. The ordering style is a little bit like outside stall style. Order, pay, get your number, sit down, wait for the person at the counter to call out your number, then grab the food from the counter.

For me, I order Carbonara without the drinks. And here it is.... hope you are not too surprising with the portion.
The spaghetti is soft and tender, well cooked and prepared within the right time. The ham and meats is really small pieces, good thing is the meats are soft and good for tasting with the spaghetti. The best thing is the sauce. The sauce is not watery or too creamy, taste great while chewing on the spaghetti. After finish eating this, I don't feel very full of cheesy taste, so the overall taste is just good.

However, you can't take this as a main meal because it's really small portion. Probably can take it as a snack or if you looking for light meal. Unless you take two pasta at a time, which cost you RM10. If we put it this way, it's still consider cheap compare to average pasta price in the mall. What's more, you can order two different type of pasta. It can be a good deal thou.

For my second visit, about six months later after my first visit, I found that the queue is really short despite it's lunch time. Incomparable with the queue during first time visit.

Another obvious thing is, all pasta price had increased by RM1, which make it RM6 for each pasta. Unless you are going there at weekday and order their pasta of the day, which is RM5. Except for Friday in which they serve chicken confit for RM15 with ice lemon tea and milk pudding. This promotion is only available in 1 Utama outlet thou. Here goes the promotion list:

Now, they also offer an "upsize" for larger portion if you add RM3. Not sure how large it is thou. But good thing is now you can choose to have it for snack or main meal.

For today, I decided to try the Chicken Mushroom Mornay. Just like the Carbonara I tasted previously, the portion is just right for a small meal. The chicken & mushroom pieces is really small too. Almost couldn't taste any of the chicken & mushroom if I don't eat them without the spaghetti. The sauce is a little salty, but in overall it's quite nice eating with the spaghetti. And not too creamy or stuffy.

The Journey of Savory Goes On....

As promoted in their website, chicken confit is one of their highly recommended food. It's also one of the pricey meal compare to the pasta. I don't have too much experience with confit but according to my experience, confit is usually cooked with meat and the special part is that, the meat will be soaked with sauce or oil that make the meat taste really great.

Little Fat Duck's chicken confit is served with chicken meat on top of three small scope of mashed potatoes. When I was given plastic spoon and fork, I was thinking to ask the staff if they have metal spoon and fork. But when I poke the chicken meat with the the plastic fork, I know I don't need metal spoon and fork at all.

The chicken meat is so tendered, so soft, and so juicy that you can easily cut through it using plastic spoon. It's outer layer seems hard but it's just slightly tough at the skin but once you slice it, you can see that the meats are easily cut open by it's own. And the fragrant is just sooo good. It make me drool even though I'm not that hungry that time.

The chicken meat itself is cooked really well until there is no single corner of the meat that is dry and without the lovely taste. The meat can easily detach from the bone when you try to separate them with light force. And the sauce around the mashed potatoes add excellent taste onto the chicken meat and mashed potatoes. I think the mashed potatoes and chicken taste great if you eat them together or not. It's up to personal preference I guess.

Rating

Quality: Good. Well served spaghetti, meats and sauce. Taste good in overall.

Portion: Small. Just enough for light meals and not fulling.

Service: Good. Quick ordering and payment. Serving within few minutes.

Cost-Worthy: Very Worthy. Low price with great taste.

Environment: Nice. Need to have more seats and spaces between each table.

Today, I decided to give Uncle Tetsu Cheesecake a visit due to the massive queue, great internet review, great fame of Uncle Tetsu, and more important, my darling really wonder how good it could be since so many people willing to get into a long queue for it.


I reach there near to 12pm. There are not more than 10 people in front of me, which is consider quite lucky because I saw the queue can go on quite long. If I reach later or it so happen there are more people queue up, I might need to wait a few hours.

As I heard my darling saying last week one of the guy in the stall (which I don't know who) told her that weekend is only for customers who made reservation, which gave us the impression that we couldn't make any order during weekend. This is why when I reach the Uncle Tetsu place, I call for one of the girl working in the stall and ask her a silly question: "How do I take the order?". She seems quite surprise and not sure how to answer my question. She just tell me I just need to queue up, wait for my turn to take the cake, and make the payment. I ask about how to reserve, she just tell me that weekend can't make reservation. I found out me and her kind of off channel... I just go queue up anyway.

As I thought, it's gonna take some time. The people in the line are either looking at their phone or talking to someone around them. I knew I have to wait, so I brought novel with me. End up I'm the only one reading novel while waiting. So before you get the idea to queue up for Uncle Tetsu, make sure you have your phone battery fully charged or bring a book with you.

By 12.35pm, I got the cake when I thought they have no more and I gotta to wait for the next batch. Fortunately that I'm the last one or two customer for that particular batch. And here it is, Uncle Tetsu Cheesecake and I also grabbed one of their Cheese sticks. As described about Uncle Tetsu Cheesecake from their site, the premium ingredient to make this cheesecake is imported from Australia which there is no doubt, I'm biting at the cheesecake now and all I can say is soft, fluffy, and melt in the mouth experience where I can slowly taste the smoothness of the cheesecake while it melting. I swear I can finish the entire cake by myself if I have a cup of coffee with me, and probably I can plan a day for that.

And next is the strawberry cheese sticks, which I don't really sure what it is before I grabbed it. Just thinking I can try out their other product since I'm there.

Unfortunately, I didn't get a taste of it around the time I got it. My darling say it's super crunchy and tasty. Although the strawberry taste is not really there, but the cheese itself is quite good. I just taken a bite... now it became quite soft, but it's true that the strawberry taste is not really there.

On side notice, their cheesecake is limited to one customer only, which means you can't buy a few cheesecakes at one time because they are only producing 10 to 12 pieces of cheesecake at one time. Each cheesecake cost RM19.90 which I consider quite worthy as usually cheesecake cost around this price. And the cheese sticks cost RM7.90.

Oh and by the way, today is also a big success for me because I told my darling that I will be going to 1Utama to meet friends, but I'm actually attempt to get Uncle Tetsu cheesecake and go to her house after that to give her this surprise. She was quite touched and did not expect that I would queue up for it just because she mentioned she want to try it, while I kind of wondering what so great about it that time. But well, now I know.

Located on the top of level 3 Mid Valley Area which is partially-completed renovating, you can find Madame Waffle on the left side when you take the new elevator up which you will pass by from GSC Cinema to the center court or the other way round.

Madame Waffle is a small corner shop that specialize in waffle (duh~) and some special coffee & tea. I got a small menu around the counter that shows the available waffle selection and their list of coffee & tea. So here's the Waffle~ Honestly... not so appetizing comparing with the illustration-purpose-only picture. The size is small, so it's suitable if you just had a light meal and looking for a place for some sweet dessert other than donuts. (Apologize for the picture quality. Lacking of light here.)

Despite the small portion, the taste and texture is great. The one above is Cinnamon on the left and honey on the right. Cinnamon waffle is topped with some cinnamon sugar but you don't feel like biting on large pieces of sugar while having it. Honey Waffle is well glazed, and perfect for honey-lover. Both of the waffle is really soft and crunchy, as long as you take it right after you get served.

From the menu, they have the following waffle selection:

• Original - Vanilla infused waffle with pearl sugar
• Matcha - Japanese green tea infused waffle
• Chocolate - Belgian dark chocolate topping
• White Chocolate - Belgian milk & white chocolate topping
• Honey - Pure honey glazed waffle
• Cinnamon - Cinnamon sugar toppings
• Coffee - Coffee espresso infused waffle

For the selection above, you can request for a small plastic bag if you want to take away. They also have food only available for dine in which include gelato. That's something I'm gonna try next time when I'm looking for a place for dessert. Here is a wide range of coffee & tea for you to choose. They have the common espresso, cappucino, and green tea, and also some special drinks like rose latte, matcha strawberry latte, hot belgian chocolate, lemon ginger mint, and earl grey lavender. So much of attracting drinks that make me feel like trying soon~

Here is the price for the waffles:
- RM5.90: Original
- RM6.50: Matcha, Honey, Cinnamon
- RM6.90: Chocolate, White Chocolate, Coffee
If you order a waffle with a coffee or tea, it can costs up to RM16 to RM20. But I hope that the combination of the waffle with the coffee or tea would be a good one that worth the price on my next visit.

The brand new Madame Waffle is now open in 1 Utama! It was my luck that I happen to found Madame Waffle open at a time when I'm looking for a place with some snacks and nice cup of coffee to rest my weary leg after so much of walking.

Honestly, I'm more than just wanted to chew on some light snacks and I don't want to order few pieces of waffle, so I decided to try on their Madame Signature (RM17) First of all, appearance win. Look extremely delicious and make me drool. It’s the position of the vanilla ice cream, waffle with red bean on top, and matcha ice cream that create the feeling that they are meant to make a good taste out from it. Tiny slices of strawberry unexpectedly make this waffle much more appealing. Sprinkle some green tea powder at the side make it looks quite artistic and grand.

It's a little strategic to figure out how should I taste on this so I start by tasting each of the component I can find on the plate.

First is the red bean. Taste sweet but not too over, it’s a great and sweet little dessert during the time when you need to get warm.

Second is the vanilla ice cream in which I thought it’s vanilla ice cream but actually it’s just whipped cream. It’s some whipped cream that added a bit of flavoring and taste a little sweet.

Next is the matcha (green tea) ice cream (this time it's really ice cream) that taste not really bitter. If you don’t like the original green tea ice cream without sugar, which can be quite bitter, you probably like this. Although it won’t taste that sweet, green tea supposed to taste slightly bitter anyway.

Last thing before I chew them together is to taste the waffle. This is the first time I take a matcha waffle. Just like the ice cream, the green tea flavour is not that strong. The waffle is just the same type of crunchy feeling like the original one.

Finally, I attempted different type of combination for each component in the plate and here is what I think:

• Matcha ice cream + waffle – The ice cream soften the waffle a little, but not too much so you can still taste the crunchy feeling in the waffle while the ice cream make the matcha feeling stronger. Plus it’s a little cold so it’s much more nice to chew

• Red bean + waffle – The red bean add much more sweetness onto the waffle but unlike the whipped cream, tasting the red bean with the waffle give a little nice chewing experience. Somehow, my six sense telling me that this combination still lack of something.
• Matcha ice cream + red bean + waffle (BEST!) - This made up a uji matcha waffle. Anyone who like uji matcha would love this. I love the combination of green tea and red bean in food, yet I still failed to describe the wonderful feeling for these two combinations. You will know after you tasted it.
• Matcha ice cream + red bean + waffle + whipped cream – If you don’t really prefer the original green tea without sugar, this would be great to you. The whipped cream is slightly sweetened. Adding whipped cream into the matcha ice cream make you feel the bitterness to a lower level. Moreover, the sweetness of red bean create the nice and sweets chewing for you. So for me, it’s totally up to personal preference between adding whipped cream or not when you eat the waffle with matcha ice cream and red bean.

As for the sides, if you like some nuts on top of ice cream, you gotta top the matcha ice cream on top before eating. The nuts are really crunchy and taste good. The red bean on the side is basically about the same with the one on top of the waffle. Just that this is not as mashed up as the one on the waffle.

The only complaint I have on this dessert is the strawberry. It taste quite sour and it doesn’t seems to belong to any of the food except that it make the plate look more appealing. If you are going to take the strawberry, I suggest you to take it with the red bean or red bean with matcha ice cream.

As one of the main reason that I'm here is because of coffee, I just want to try out on their Cappuccino although they have really wide range of interesting beverage for coffee, tea, and chocolate drinks.

Upon taking the first sip, first I tasted the milk, then follow by a light taste of espresso. The taste of the milk is quite dense and cover most of the coffee taste. In overall, the Cappuccino taste except that it lacking of the nice aroma of the espresso that a Cappuccino should has.

Quality

Nice. I wouldn't say this is the best waffle I had, I think the waffle would be better if they have stronger aroma. Other than that, the texture and the glaze on the waffle is quite good and satisfying.

Portion

Nice. If you are a huge eater and looking for something to bite that doesn't affect your stomach, their waffle will be good choice. But if you are not feeling full after a main meal, this might not be a good choice to fill your stomach.

Service

Good. Food serving is quite fast. And the staffs are quite friendly. Quite satisfying with this.

Cost-Worthy

Less-Worthy. Considering their portion, you don't feel much from eating it other than for chewing and pleasure, their waffle is something that you can have once in awhile but not really a good choice to be your usual option for light snack. So if you are looking for a snack place for the price of food and drinks for approximately RM15 (consider waffle RM5 + coffee/tea RM10), you have lots more better option out there.

Environment

Nice. I will compare the environment between Mid Valley & 1 Utama outlet:

1. Mid Valley

   Number of seats are consider quite average, not too little but not too much. But the comfortable seats are quite limited and most of the seats are quite near to each other. It’s more like a place for you to take some snack while chit-chat with your friends. Additionally, the seating place is just next to the walk way, and many crowds keep passing by time by time. So it’s not really a peaceful way if you want to do some reading or need some rest.

   I’m not sure if it’s just me, I had really weak internet connection every time I’m trying to surf net here.

2. 1 Utama

   The number of seats are more than Mid Valley outlets. And most of the seats are quite comfortable. Anyhow, each of the seats also quite near to each other, it might get noisy if anyone around you chit chat in a group.

   In terms of the atmosphere, 1 Utama outlet also locate at the center of the mall so many people would pass by time to time. If you sitting next to the walkway, crowd of people would pass by time to time too.

   Just like in Mid Valley outlets, my internet connection here is extremely weak.

Tappers cafe is nothing new, I had tried it in the same outlet about a year ago but I haven't started this blog yet.

I was thinking hard where to have my lunch as I do not feel like eating the same thing again, so I decided to give this one another chance. I mentioned "chance" because I did not have a good impression for this cafe after my first attempt.

Frankly speaking, I was quite disappointed for my first time experience about a year ago. I remember I order Fish & Chip that time, as I'm usually a big fan of Fish & Chip, so I was expecting quite some quality in this. When the dish came to me, I wasn't expecting something good because it looks too plain. The french fries are tasteless and it's like Carefour quality. The fish fillet is also like from Carefour, the outer skin are too deep fried so the fried skin is more than the meat. And I don't really taste the fish meat because the taste is too plain and texture is not really good. I forgotten about how the salad taste like, but in overall it's not a good experience that time. This dish cost about RM15 if I'm not mistaken.

One of my friend order a Caesar salad that cost about RM12++. He commented that the taste is totally weird when he first bite on the vege with the cheese dusting on it.

They have a set lunch that include a meal and a drinks There are a range of dishes for you to choose. Range from local cuisine, sandwiches, burger, and western dishes. This time, I decided to give their signature Spaghetti Carbonara a try. The cafe does not has many customers that time, and there are two waiters facing their back at me talking to each other. I shouted twice "Excuse me" when the two waiters are just three feets away from me but they didn't hear me, just talking to each other. That's make me a little frustrating but I don't want to keep waiting, so I just walked to them and give them my order. Without a long wait, the lime juice that I order has reach to me. And about 5 minutes later, this is the Carbonara:

As you can see, the portion is quite a lot. And the taste is quite good as the sauce is not too much and too full of the creamy taste. The bacon strip and mushroom also has a good portion as it's not too little so the overall taste is nice. When I ad finish with the dish, I don't feel too full of the creamy source so I consider this one is quite good in terms of taste and the portion for overall.

The lime juice taste good, as it does not taste too sour or taste too plain.

After taking these two dishes, I'm feeling a bit full. The original price is RM14.30 for this set, after adding the tax it's around RM15.25.

Although I had some not-so-good experience in this cafe, but I might give it another try next time for other dishes, as long as not the FIsh & Chip, salad, or probably the burger.

I love all type of cheese cake. Although I have not tasted lots of different cheese in this world, or in Malaysia, but so far there isn't any cheese cake that I dislike. The only thing that stop me from it is the cost. Great cheese cake in Malaysia are usually made from imported cheese, they are bloody expensive although it's taste super awesome. I used to be satisfy with the local cheese cake as long as they are tasty and not so costly, but not so until I learn how to make this Tiramisu.

I'm not sure about you, but whenever I try to look for simple Tiramisu recipe over the internet, all of them are consider too troublesome for me. And most of them are using different type of ingredients that are usually hard to find or quite costly. I'm a lazy guy, and I don't like the idea of spending half a day in the kitchen producing one type of food. So after a few tries in making Tiramisu using the standard way, I found this simplest way that doesn't need too much of ingredients, not so time & effort consuming, but with great taste! Of course, you can add any ingredients you want to make it better in your own way, but my target is to make something that can be called Tiramisu and the taste is awesome.

Now, let's get started! These are the list of ingredients that I used for a more tasty Tiramisu. You can get from any AEON Big and Cold Storage outlet.

The list above is more standard, especially if you want a better taste. But for me, I also go for a much more simple list because it's easier to get those ingredient and less costly.

My Simple Tiramisu Ingredient List

In case you are using the simple ingredient list, do not worry about the instruction below if you are lack of certain ingredient. Just skip any ingredient that you are not using and proceed.

2. Preparation

Now when you have all the ingredients ready, you need to follow with the preparation below before you start whipping and mixing anything. So follow the checklist below and make sure you have everything ready.

1. Make a cup of coffee with your selected coffee powder with a cup of 300ml water. Add in the Rum (optional) after you done making the coffee. Then, pour the coffee with Rum into a flat plate and let it cool down.
2. Take the mascarpone cheese out from the fridge about 10 to 15 minutes before you start making it so that it's easy to mix and fold when it's about room temperature.
3. That's it! Get ready to do cake making.

3. Steps

1. Start with whipping the cream. If you are using a whipping machine, set it to medium speed and whip roughly 3 to 5 minutes, or until it is soft and sticky. Mix in the vanilla essence about 1 minute after you start whipping the cream. You need to process the cream until it's not so creamy and when you turn over the whipping container where the cream is, it won't leak out like cream. Careful not to beat too much because when it is over beaten, it became much more creamy and you can't use it anymore.
   
   
2. Mix in the mascarpone cheese and icing sugar and start whipping again. This time, you just need to make sure the cheese and icing sugar are well mixed with the cream. Remember, the cream will not be so smooth if you over whipping it. So as long as the cheese and icing sugar is mixed, and you no longer see tiny pieces of sugar on the surface, then it's done.
   
   
3. Get your container ready and place the plate that contain the coffee & lady finger biscuits beside the container. Make sure the coffee is cool off and not hot anymore so that your lady finger biscuit will taste more solid later. Now, you need to dip the lower part of the lady finger biscuit into the coffee for 2 seconds and quickly turn to the other side. You just have to make sure the lady finger biscuit had absorb a certain amount of coffee. Then, place it at the bottom of the container. Repeat the same step for each lady finger biscuit until you cover the bottom of your container with lady finger biscuit.
   
   
4. Add a layer of well mixed cream, mascarpone cheese and icing sugar on top of the lady finger biscuit in the container. You need to distribute the mixture evenly on the surface so that the entire layer is flat on the surface. Also, watch out on how much mixture you had after you adding into the container, because you might need to add another layer of lady finger biscuit after dipping into the coffee and add extra layer of mixture on top of it. It's better to have at least two layers of lady finger biscuit and cheese mixture so that you get more taste in a single bite. Unless you are using a long rectangle container so you don't have enough ingredients to add another layer.
   
   
5. When you had used up all the ingredients according to the steps above, now you can pour the cocoa powder on the surface of your (going-to-be) Tiramisu and try to distribute to the entire surface evenly as well. Best to have food powder grading tool so that the cocoa powder will be separated nicely.
   
   
6. Close the container cover and put into the fridge for at least 4 hours, and voila!
   

Now you can take the container out from the fridge, open up the cover and take a nice picture of it or just devour on this easy and simple Tiramisu with great taste.

Something not right?

- If the cream mixture is not smooth, or the texture is kind of like tiny pieces in it, it's either you had over whipping the cream or you might want to consider trying other brand of mascarpone cheese. I tried several type of mascarpone cheese, one of them always give me this texture.
- If the lady finger biscuit doesn't have much taste in it, you probably want to dip into the coffee longer before you putting into the container. Just becareful not to dip too long.
- If you can't really get even a soft bite on the lady finger biscuit, as it is too soft to the extent that your tongue can easily dissolve it, it's either you had dip the lady finger biscuit into the coffee too long, or the coffee is not cool enough.

A new outlet of Texas Chicken has finally open in Mid Valley. But I got no chance to try it yet with my dear dear because the line is too long every time I pass by there. But since I only get the chance to pass by there during my lunch hour and after work, so no choice.

Texas Chicken around Jalan Sultan Ismail also the same I guess. If you get down from Bukit Bintang Monorail, you will see McDonald on the other side. Texas Chicken is the opposite of McDonald. You can cross the road to the direction where you see H&M on the other side of the road, then go to your left and cross the road again. Walk a few more step and you will see it on your right. It's before Maybank.

This is not my first time dining in here. My first experience was with my friends, they recommend it because it's much better than KFC (Sorry to compare with KFC but couldn't help because too much of similarities).

Basically, the menu is quite the same with KFC at the basic level. You get to choose two piece chicken plate or three piece chicken plate, both with sets and comes with smashed potato, salad, and a soft drinks. They also have burger but not really attracting me. I didn't study through their menu, but from what I see, Texas Chicken has the same thing as KFC. But the best thing is, drinks are free refill! You get to choose coke, coke light, Fanta grape, lemon tea, and few more drinks. The only sad thing is the drinking machine is at the bottom floor, so if you sit at the second floor, it's a bit troublesome if you want a refill. And the stair is a little narrow.

So here it is, I order the usual two pieces chicken plate. I was a little hungry so I order nugget as well. No doubt, it's basically the same as KFC's snack plate.

While eating the chicken, I feel a little different, something good. Then I realize why later. It's because the chewing feeling give me a good feel because it has been long time since I eat fried chicken and I'm able to chew on chicken meat rather than eating only the fried & crunchy skin without much chicken meat. The two pieces of chicken meat is quite huge. The skin is not over fried, so it is crunchy but the skin won't cover too much of the entire pieces. So it's good to have a taste of the fried skin with the soft chewy chicken meat. I order spicy, but it's not too spicy. Guess this is too suit the foreigner taste.

Instead of butter scorch bread, their butter bread is the best bread in all fast food restaurant I tasted so far. My friend said that, if you take a bite on the bread, you feel like you are in Hawaii~....... Nope, not to that extent. The bread is crunchy in the center, and cover with a layer of butter with some sugar. It's small but really enjoyable, great for appetizer too. You can't find it in this pic because I swallow too fast before I remember I need to take pic.......

The smashed potato is just fine. The gravy has much more taste in it. And the smashed potato is more muddy, so it's easier to merge with the gravy. Although I personally prefer the smashed potato not too soft like this, but not a bad taste if you like the combine the taste of gravy with the smashed potato.

The salad taste the same as the salad from KFC. Just that they are using a different type of green vegie. I can't really tell since it's all covered in mayo and stuff. Probably lettuce. Kinda feel like the mayo is a bit weird, but still eatable.

Lastly, for the nugget, it's only six pieces, but quite full after the two pieces chicken plate. The original taste of the nugget is really nice. I can taste the juicy chicken meat in it. And it's quite big. The creamy jalapeno add another great taste to the nugget. So taking the nugget with or without the jalapeno sauce also give a great pleasure. Just not advisable if you are taking nugget as appetizer or dessert. On side note, you can have nugget combo with drinks too.

For the two pieces chicken plate, it cost RM11.35, and the six pieces nugget is RM6.90.

If you are looking fried chicken with great taste and pleasure, Texas Chicken can be a good meal if you don't mind the price.

As a reward for whole day hard work and a really long mean of trying the parfait in Nana's Green Tea, me and my dear dear finally take our initiative to taste one of the famous parfait that you definitely see at least a few tables ordering it every time you dine in.

We had several dine in experience in Nana's Green Tea, which in overall we think the food are quite nice. Just that you might need to queue for some time during peak hour.

My dear dear is not that hungry, and she had dinner ready at her home so she just order this one: Chicken Karaage Salad. Basically it's fried chicken and salad. You get to choose japanese style dressing, mentaiko dressing, and roasted sesame dressing. We do not which one is good so we ask for the waiter's recommendation and he recommend us japanese style dressing so we take it. It's kinda taste like sesame dressing, a little sweet but more to sour. Great portion and the fried chicken pieces are a lot, and really big too. This Chicken Karaage Salad cost RM13.80.

As for me, I order Chicken Nanban (or Nanban Chicken) Don that I felt quite nice when I first tasted it. Felt the taste a bit off this time, maybe it's been too long since I first had it. The chicken is just fine, chicken karaage is much better. The mayo on top of the chicken is a little too much, so I felt kinda full after taking it. And as usual, the miso soup taste good. Not too salty but seems the seaweed getting lesser. This one is RM16.80. My dear dear is just feeling okay after the salad, since there is no rice for her (except from my feeding), I'm feeling a little full due to the mayo but we are ready for the parfait, so I request the waiter to serve it after we done with our main meal. And here it is~ It's really tall. If this is not for sharing, I doubt if a huge eater like me can finish it after having a heavy meal. The parfait that we order is Matcha Gateaux parfait. On top of it is the whipped cream. The green tea ice cream on the bottom right of the whipped cream is quite original taste, which is bitter. So adding the whipped cream taste nice. Beside the green tea ice cream is a type of red bean.... ball or something. It's taste differently when you combine the red bean with green tea ice cream & whipped cream. The cake beside the red bean is a not-soft matcha cake. Guess they are putting in the fridge for too long. We both could not describe our feeling when we try to mix the cake with the ice cream or red bean, so we rather eat it separately. After some corn flakes lie underneath the topping, it's a fine taste vanilla ice cream with some green tea pudding waiting for you at the bottom of it. The green tea pudding taste also original. The rest is just to finish it up and stuff ourself before heading home. In overall, the most enjoying part is the topping, as well as the one that enjoy the sweet dessert with you. We might want to try mixing the topping into the vanilla next time too. The parfait is RM19.80.

Due to the reason that I just recover from a mild fever, I follow my friend to the Lot 10 food court located on the lower floor for dinner to have this raw fish porridge. For those who don't like to take it raw, do not worry because you can choose if you want the fish to be cooked or raw.

I saw many tables also order this porridge. And my friend will definitely order this too every time he come here. So I just give it a try.

The waiting time is around 5 minutes. The chef start preparing and cook the porridge once he got my order. Then he put in some green onion and soy sauce in the porridge and voila~

Just like my friend comment, the porridge is fresh, smooth, and well cooked. The fish that I order is raw but I don't taste any fishy taste in it, so it's like sashimi porridge. That's really new to me.

As you can see, the portion is quite huge. I don't need any supper tonight. The original price is RM9.90, after the tax is RM10.50. But I would say it's really worth it due to the portion and the great taste.

The stall of Hon Kee Porridge is located somewhere at the center of the food court. It's in front of Mini Wok, a stall that sell variety of drinks, and a stall that sell only orange juice.

For the purpose of old time (not that old, just bout 2 years) college mates gathering and celebrating one of the mate's birthday, as well as recommended by one of them after trying it at first time, we are here: Mitasu Japanese Restaurant.

I've been to the area around Bukit Bintang, Lot 10, Pavilion a lot but I don't recall knowing this place when I found out it's just a few minutes walk from Lot 10. After some time of wandering walking from Lot 10 to Raja Chulan, I suddenly notice this in a glance Here it is.... Not too hard to find, not too easy to see. It's right under the entrance of Central Plaza building, the building next to Standard Charter building if you are coming from the back entrance of Pavilion that lead to Wisma Cosway and Raja Chulan Monorail station.
This restaurant provide you a menu, and you need to order the food you want from the menu. It doesn't have the type of buffet style for you to take your food from outside and go back to your seat to enjoy it. So you just need to wait for your food after you order it. Good thing is the serving time is quick fast. We still enjoying the half way of our first batch of food and then the second batch all served.

If you are a big fan of oyster and you are looking for some place for you to swallow as much oyster you want, this is the right place. Look at the top right, that's the oyster. It's so fresh that I don't need to squeeze lemon juice on it (due to my own preference to eat original taste as well). You can order as much as you want, just tell the waiter how many oyster you want in the place, they serve you very soon. The middle right is some fried mushroom and.... cucumber, I think. The fried food here is really nice because I don't feel the over fried feeling when chewing on them, I won't feel like I'm only eating on the crunchy and fried food, I can actually taste the real food. For the fried chicken and salad on the bottom, the meat is just fine, although I don't think it's too special because you can find it out there. The salad with some vinegar is great too, not too much of vinegar and the freshness of the vege still there. The sushi.... is not so tempting as you can see. The taste is just normal and we kind regret ordering them. It's taste is okay except I taste quite lots of vinegar in the rice, so kinda make us jelak easier. The fried Ebi on the top is okay too, just that I can taste more fried feeling on the skin. Good thing is I can still taste the prawn really well. This is one great pleasure for me~ Healthy~ Great taste~ Great combination~ Fresh meat (because it's sashimi salad) and vege. If you always want to order some sashimi salad or salad with meats in other Japanese restaurant but concern of the price, here you can order as much as you want. There are various type of salad you can choose from the menu like smoked duck salad, tofu salad, and etc!! Here are more fried foods for us~ The tofu plate (where a hand suddenly invade into it) is something like, probably fried on the outer skin but the tofu inside the skin are totally soft. You can taste a thick tofu but when you bite, it's soft and melting in your mouth! The fried scallop on the middle of the plate is just awesome. The scallop is quite big, and you taste more of the scallop rather than the fried skin. As you can see, we order more of the fried Ebi because we can't have enough of it. Lastly... about the takoyaki on top of the fried scallop, I swear it's like you are biting on ping pong ball. We all comment the same thing. And there is no taste or feeling like you are eating takoyaki. It's the only food we definitely won't order again. More sashimi~ It's salmon, white salmon... and tuna if not mistaken. Lastly, of course we not gonna miss out the ice cream. Soft texture with great taste. The best among all is this green tea ice cream (Sorry I can't wait to swallow it xD) and chocolate ice cream. We seriously stuff our stomach with ice cream until we can't take it any more.

The only thing that doesn't worth it is the drinks. The is one small (I mean really small) drinking machine somewhere in the corner of the restaurant. There are few type of drinks you can choose: green tea, ice lemon tea, and orange juice that doesn't taste special, and some of them taste weird for me. Within 2 hours, the drinks are all finish....

In overall, the food are great and it cost each of RM56.90++. Each of us pay a little extra for the birthday girl so we pay about RM70, so I'm not sure what is the actual amount that charge on us. But I say you can enjoy this buffet as long as you have RM70 with you.

This one is recommended by my girlfriend after she experience dining here with her family. It's located at Aman Suria, I don't really know how to go here if you ask me about the direction because I'm not clear about the place there. But I know it's somewhere you can reach within 5 minutes (if no jam) from Kelana Jaya LRT station. So there we are, when we reach there around 7pm, half of the cafe is occupied by people but we managed to get a seat. But soon a few group of people came and the cafe is totally full.

As recommended by my girl, I order Grilled Beer Braised Boston Butt that worth RM33.90 from the menu. It's basically pork meat dipped with beer for three to hours before cooking and serving customer. I was served quite soon, like in about 5 minutes after ordering. If you are a big fan of pork, you must try this one. I don't really taste the beer, but the meats is sooooo soft & tasty that..... argh, hungry again. The meat is totally soft and you can taste some smoking flavor and the result of well grilling. With the tasty gravy as topping, I don't really know what gravy it is but it's just nice, the taste get even better. For side dishes, you are served with smashed potato with another type of gravy, lots of green beans, and two thin sliced of giant carrot.

The portion is just nice. For a huge eater like me, I feel kind of jelak. My girl can't finish her portion due to the gravy so I finish up her portion as well. Ended up is.... quite jelak. But at least I don't need to look for supper later.

There are tons of other selections in the menu as well. Just in case you wonder, in the snacks/dessert section, there is one dishes known as "Dog Food", and that's mainly to serve you, me and all customers, and not for dog. Not really sure what it is thou.

I also order a cup of hot lemon tea that cost RM5. I can taste the nice lemon flavor and not too much sugar in it. Quite enjoying it.

Just happen that my sister has the Groupon to get Brotzeit Platter that serve for 4 to 5 pax. Without the Groupon, this platter cost about RM200++. So I went here with my family for this meat feast. Before this, my colleagues mentioned about this restaurant and she can't praise enough of the food after she had some kind of pork knuckle.

Brotzeit German Bier Bar (not sure of i can call it Beer Bar instead), is famous of their pork platter and various German main courses, side dishes, and German beer. I don't have the chance to taste the beer as me and my family going at lunch time, and we not fancy about beer. I saw a lot of people dine in here just for their beer after working hour. Not sure how good it is thou.

The waiters & waitress are quite friendly. Lots of them are around so we don't need to get to wait too long calling them to take our order. We just show our groupon and they immediately know what to do without much question. Environment wise is okay, the place kind of giving me the feeling I'm eating in an old fashion pub, with the mexico-like background music (I'm not sure that's German song or other languages). The only problem is that, the Brotzeit Platter that we order need a lot of preparation time and we got starved for like 20 minutes.

When the platter is finally served, here it is We were quite starving so it looks as if we can finish all of them without problem. The entire platter are mainly consist of meats. Pork knuckle, another-pork-meat, sausage, and little bit of vege at random spot at the platter. Here come the best part. After we eating it, I gotta say the Pork Knuckle is AWESOME!! The meat is soft, nice to chewed, and the taste just right. I can taste the meat and the flavor together, and the flavor doesn't take away the taste of the meat. It's well cooked, and same for the rest of the meat. Not as awesome as Pork Knuckle, the other-pork-meat is cooked in a different way, not too much of flavoring but with the original taste of the meat. The sausage is slightly spicy but that's giving a great taste for each bite (My stomach growl really loud now *drool....*). But the meats are served with something BBQ sauce and other dressing, so it's kinda jelak after taken huge portion of it.

For the side dishes, we order roasted potatoes and potato salad. The potato salad is a little jelak because of the dressing, but it taste great. A bit like smashed potato. The roasted potato is crunchy but not over fried. I can still taste the potato in it.

I also order a cranberry juice that cost me around RM10. The cranberry taste is not that much but at least I think they don't add extra sugar in it. So it's quite a nice feel after having all those meats.
